Here are some basic things that I would say are fairly easy for a beginner, and will might give a big return. Those countries/regions haven't allowed Google to map their streets and roads. Some big ones are mainland China, Kazakhstan, most of Africa, most of the Middle East, easier to memorize the few countries that do have coverage in those regions. If there's no Google coverage, no point in guessing there.
Not every country on earth is covered by Google Streetview, and therefore a possible location on Geoguessr. There are some locations which are small in area and have an iconic look, but are seemingly over represented in the game, so it's a good strategy to have those dialed in for a good point yield. Very few players have mastered region guessing here. #1 – American trucksAmerican and Canadian trucks will often have their location of origin displayed somewhere on the door. Instead of throwing you pc out of the window, take a look at his process using the 'watch replay' feature after a game has ended.
My recommendation is not to study them, but to take a mental note when something stands out to you in a game. The more general things like right- or left-hand traffic are probably the most important to know. Too often I see people make guesses in countries that aren't a possibility. Get to know some of the over represented locations. It might seem like a daunting task, but the left side countries are kind of clustered. For example if you end up in a Museum with Chinese language, it's not impossible you are for example in Beijing, Shanghai or perhaps the National Silk Museum in Hangzhou. Then there's a lot of dead areas which are just desert/tundra/rainforest so no coverage there either.
This isn't perfect science and it'll often still be wrong, but it's better than to guess blindly. In the west of Russia you'll find more European car brands such as VW, Skoda, Peugeot. #3 – Brazilian roadsThough it is quite rare to spot these highway markers, they're a gem when it comes to region guessing in Brazil. #2 – Nigerian cop carFor some reason the Google Streetview car is being followed by police throughout the entire country. The location isn't always accurate, so don't trust it blindly when it doesn't add up. #8 – Study your opponents"How the hell did he guess the right town when I wasn't even near? RAAHHH!!" That's you.
Australia, India, most of South East Asia are left side driving, with the exception of Taiwan, South Korea, The Philippines, Cambodia, and Laos. All of the Americas (as far as you'll see in the game anyway) are right side driving. Which side of the road countries drive on. Where countries are located, flags, capitals and some of the other biggest cities, domain names. Look up where there's no Google coverage.
Knowing which abbreviation stands for which country can be a big help. It's a white plate with a distinctive blue stripe on the left. Some countries however give their own spin to it. Look straight into the sun and take a look at your compass; does it point to luckygem casino bonus the south?

Also useful to compare words and place names to place names on the map for similarities. Using external resources are generally considered cheating, at least in competitive play.
It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish one language from the other. This chart I made shows some of the most common scripts and which Geoguessr-possible places to find them. As languages developed throughout the world, every region developed its own recognizable features.
